The Winchester facility began its life as the first Chevrolet/Cadillac dealership in Winchester, Virginia. It was scheduled to open in 1941. World War II intervened and the building spent it's early years as casket storage for casualties of the War. It finally opened in 1948 and had a varied history until 2003. Over time, the building deteriorated, both inside and out. It was, however, overall a solid building with art deco features and a passive solar wall, one of the first of it's kind in the country.
